Question 1

What does IT support in Sheffield cover?

Accepted Answer

At Synergy-UK, we cover more than most people expect. It's not just 'my computer's broken, come and fix it.' A good IT support package looks after everything from your hardware to your software, network, backups, and security, all at once, so problems get caught before they turn into downtime. That means everything from day-to-day helpdesk queries to keeping an eye on your systems in the background. Alternatively, if you don't need a managed IT service in Sheffield, we also support one-off issues, offering a flexible service to meet all requirements.

Question 2

What's included if I sign up with Synergy-UK?

Accepted Answer

Whatever suits how your business actually works. We offer remote assistance, ad hoc support, emergency response, IT consultancy, and fully managed IT packages. On top of the core support, we also handle broadband, telephony, hosting, antivirus, hardware supply, software licensing, IT auditing, data cabling, and website design. So, if a new starter needs a laptop setting up, your email keeps bouncing, or you want your whole network audited, it's one call, not five. Many of our Sheffield-based clients mix and match, so we can be fully scalable depending on your unique needs.

Question 3

How much does IT support in Sheffield cost?

Accepted Answer

It all depends on what you need. Remote support, for example, is priced per workstation and starts from £7 per month, per station. Email hosting is charged per mailbox. Beyond that, pricing shifts depending on whether you want ad hoc support, fully managed IT support, or something in between. Give us a call on 0114 221 6569 and we'll talk through what best fits your business needs.

Question 4

What is an IT technician?

Accepted Answer

An IT technician is an IT professional. They provide technical support related to computer systems. Their skills can cover hardware, software, and networks. Their role is to help diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve IT-related issues, and to assist end-users within a business. Depending on the job role, an IT technician might work in a help desk setting, handle on-site repairs and installations, or manage systems from a remote location. Our IT technicians are based in Sheffield, so we can provide managed IT support right where you need it.

Question 5

Do you offer IT help in Sheffield outside normal working hours?

Accepted Answer

We are an IT support company based in Sheffield, and our standard hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. But we know IT problems don't always wait for office hours, so we also run an out-of-hours service with alternative contact numbers for anything urgent. Get in touch and we'll talk you through how that works.

Question 6

Are we tied into a long contract?

Accepted Answer

No. Some of our clients have been with us since we started back in 1996, but that's because they've chosen to stay, not because they're tied in. We think that says more about the quality of our support than any sales pitch could.

Question 7

Do you only cover Sheffield, or the wider area too?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Sheffield, so local businesses get the benefit of an IT support Sheffield team that's genuinely on your doorstep, not a call centre three counties away. That said, we also support businesses across South Yorkshire and further afield, including Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Chesterfield, and beyond, from high street shops and restaurants right through to banks and public sector clients.
